Radio/dvd/cd not working since battery died

I went to start the car and it wouldn't start. Turned out the battery was dead. I got a jump and let the car run for 30 minutes. Went to go to the store and the whole audio system is dead. Why? Is there something I can do to fix this myself?

Alot of newer cars have an anti theft system for the radio and when you lose power you have to enter a code into the radio so you may have to call the dealership to get it

Something is draining my battery 134,000 M

IT costs nothing to have a load test done on the battery to check for a dead cell which your problems point to. While the engine is running the alternator will be handling the power requirement but the battery will not supply the power required to start.

2001 Ford 4 door was runningg great turned off went inside an hour later tried to start and it wouldn't turn over, also can't shift automatic in neutral. Tried to jump start thought it was dead...

I'm thinking its the battery. Heat kills batteries. You said it wont jump start. That's a dead ringer for a bad battery. It may have enough juice to power some things, but wont run the starter, or the fuel pump, or the ignition(spark). Try a new battery and let me know!

I've had my 320 CLK convertible for 7 years, its a 1999 v reg. Drove it 25 miles, turned it off to go to a shop, come out and it wouldn't start. Lights work, radio works, dash lights all on but...

ignition switch contact or starter motor given up the ghost ,try a jump start and see if that works ,do the lights go dim when you try to start it??if so then its a flat battery or a old battery thats just died on you. These vehicles do have a big ignition lock in the dash and these just dont go wrong like a VW but its possible?

Went to the mall and got back to car and car wouldn't start. Had to call roadside assistance for a jump. Got home, turned car off and car won't restart. No interior lights.

Sounds like a dead battery, the fact that you were able to drive it all the way home after being jump started means that your alternator is working fine, but as soon as you turned it off there is no way to restart it since the battery is bad. Take out the battery and go have it tested at your local auto parts store to be sure, but that is most likely the cause.

I went to start my 92 lumina and it wouldn't start... the battery was dead, so I jumped it with a jump box and it was fine... I drove it to the store and back. 2 days later the battery was dead again...

first you half to determine if the alternater is working. you do his by jumping the car and while its running take of the neg cable off to the car if it dies then you know the alternater is not working properly,
if it stays running you know you have a electricalen short you half to trace down
