I've owned my '87 Allante since day 1,, Dew Caddy, Cadillac Nick & currently CARL'S COMPLETE AUTO ( Largo Fla 727.277.3625) are only mechanics to touch my car. Carl is brilliant on any mechanized vehicle,, & has become fascinated w/ diagnosing & repairing Everything on the Allantes.... friendly & wayyyy less $$ + guarantee.

It is behind the right side of the instrument panel.

With that said, it deserves mention that your 1987 Cadillac Allante is capable of self-diagnostics and system status/fault code display through the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) and the Climate Control Driver Information Center (CCDIC) panel display. It is like a professional scan tool built right into the car.

For information on how to use this feature and complete diagnostic instructions, I recommend that you subscribe to alldatadiy.com. The pricing is extremely reasonable, and all the technical/repair information you will ever need for your Cadillac can be found there. (It is the same information that I would use if you brought your vehicle to me for repair.)

Fuse box/horn relay could be found in front seating area, driver side, under dash, above steering column, mounted on support bracket.

Hello: Raise the car on the drivers side, go under the car toward the driver side from the front. The starter is on the lower side of the engine toward the front of the car. It is held to the engine with two 15mm bolts and a bracket in the front. It has a purple wire and a red cable attached to the starter solenoid.
