The input speed sensor is located just above the solenoid pack (with black cover and multiwire connector) on the transaxle and faces toward front of van. The output speed sensor is to the right of the input sensor about 6" or so. When the hood is open and you look straight down you'll see the solenoid pack. While a sensor could certainly cause the transaxle concern, an internal problem, electrical wiring, controller etc. can produce the same result. If the battery has ever had excessive corrosion/acid builud, it can leak down onto the harness located directly under the battery tray and this has been known to be a problem.

My dodge caravan 3.3L shows 5 malfunction codes what do they mean po455 po846 po500 po700 po732

P0455 = Evap leak monitor large leak detected.
This code usually means the gas cap may have been loose or needs the rubber gasket.

P0500 = No vehicle speed sensor signal.
Vehicle speed sensor is located on the transmission near one of the axle shafts (it may need replacing).

P0700 = EATX controller DTC present.
This simply means you have transmission related codes.

P0732 = Gear ratio error in 2nd gear.
This code is of some concern, it means the transmission is slipping in 2nd gear. However the trans may be in limp mode due to the speed sensor code (limp mode means the trans starts out in second gear in order to at least get to a mechanic). The first thing I would do is have these codes cleared as there may be absolutely nothing wrong with the transmission (especially if you pull the trans dip stick and the fluid does not have a burnt smell. The vehicle should drive normally after that. If the check engine light comes back, have the codes scanned ASAP (before any other unrelated code sets). Chances are it may be the output speed sensor if this happens (easy fix). Hope this helps

TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT INTO THIRD OR FOURTH GEARS

your tranny is going into limp mode,
the computer is not seeing info from the speed sensor,or output sensor,or the input sensor.
if you have the van checked for codes it will tell you which one, none are too expensive

Car will not shift out of second gear. while driving it shifts fine to second gear from first gear but it stays in second gear the entire time driven

it is going in limp mode,
if your speedometer is not working will cause this, that would be a speed sensor,or the other two reasons would be the input or output sensors on the tranny

I have 2002 doge caravan and transmission stock in 2 gear

This is a issue which arises in Dodge cars when the car experiences a Failure of the Speed Sensor. When a Car experiences a Speed Sensor Failure then the Car goes into a Limp mode in which the Car gets stuck in the Second Gear. Sometimes this issue is accompanied with Check Engine Light. Please consult a Mechanic to check the Speed Sensor.
Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

1998 Plymouth Voyager does not shift to 3rd gear when driving,3.3

It's in limp home mode. You'll have to check wire connections and electronic controls. If it has a vacuum modulator you can remove it and look for trans fluid on the vacuum hose side (meaning ruptured diaphram). Double check the parts you replaced as well, especially if they were used parts. My dad went through three speed sensors in one year on his Caravan. You should drop the pan after checking other components. It could be a bad relay, shorted module or wire. The three speed transmissions are much more reliable than the four speed overdrive transmissions but with age and miles things can go wrong and parts will wear out.

Yep ,sounds like limp mode ,should be in second gear.
Try,key on engine off, depress accelerator to floor 3 times within 5 seconds.Should reset trans.
