If you have been in 4wd on hard surface then it's possible the transfer has bound up. If you try going in revers while selecting 2wd then it should free up and disengage

Horn is out on a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero limited. What parts needed to fix it?

check horn relay works
get a 12v probe and test the horn switch works when pressed
12v should be supplied to the horn relay coil contact when the horn switch is pushed on.
Also check the fuse.
Check voltage going to horn when pressed
horn might be negatively switched so 12v positive is on one side of horn and relay switches ground negative .
You will find the horn relay under the bonnet in a relay compartment most likely

Another question. I have a 2003 MOntero Sport XLS, and I wanted to replace the bulbs for the A/C Knob, Temperature Gauge Knob, Hazard light know..etc.. is that easy to do? Can I take that to a shop and...

You know you can take it to a dealer or local shop

So your question is can you replace them

Maybe if you can find something on You Tube Video
to get an idea what is involved

If you want to change colors, forget that

Some of the switches may have to be replaced to
replace a burnt lamp & the colors will be what you get
when the vehicle was built as new

Need to provide the complete story when you come here

All we can do is guess & point you in some direction

2001 montero/ rumbling noise in front

There are a few things that this could be, and I see that you have replaced a few of the items that it could be but steering systems are a weird thing so here ya go:

  1. Excessive inner CV joint angle
  2. Sticking inboard joint assembly
  3. Lack of lube at the ball joints
  4. Loose upper strut mount
  5. Worn tie rods
  6. Loose stabilizer bar
  7. Loose suspension bolts
  8. And, believe it or not, a blister or bump on the tire
If you got a Chilton's or Haynes manual to do this job, it states in there how much grease should be packed into the bearings. Also, making sure of the length of your CV axle.

Post more info you would like, to pass on.
