Need to find where the IAT sensor is located?

The cooling sensor is located on the intake , when you go to autozone for the replacement part ask for a diagran of its location.

there are 4 o2 sensors on the nissan xterra . there is 2 o2 sensors in the exhaust pipe just after the exhaust manifold and there are 2 down under the truck

did the "bump" tear out wiring under car?

The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor/Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is located in the air cleaner case.

The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is an integral part of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Looks like this:

For your 01 Nissan xterra V6 3.3L. The sensor is located underneath the air intake manifold on top of the engine block.

the cam shaft sensor is inside the distributor
the distributor is located at the front of the engine

V6 3.3L The sensor is located underneath the air intake manifold on top of the engine block. This should take an experienced mechanic about 3-4 hours to replace.
