SOURCE: replacing car stereo in a 2008 Jeep Patriot

It is pretty easy if you have a few tools and know how to use them.

1-You need to pry off the trim bezel. There are just snaps holding it on, but be careful you do not pull too hard or scratch it. Use a plastic stick or small srewdriver covered with tape.

2-There will be 4 bolts at each corner of the radio to remove.

3-Pull out the radio and and remove all the connectors and the AM/FM antenna plug.

4-Reconnect your new radio and repeat steps 2 and 1.

I did this same upgrade on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it worked without the need for a theft code.

  2. Remove the rear wheel.

ESP BAS ((ABS)) Brake and traction control light on in 2008 jeep patriot sport

I have the same problem on a 2009 Jeep Compass. I suspect a wheel speed sensor and when the weather gets better I'll check it out. I know if I take it in for service it will cost me a fortune for a simple problem. It's amazing the things they can find.
A couple years ago I took my Compass to Sears for service. I think it was for brake pads, shocks and a few small items. When I finally got the car back the bill was for $2500. What a shock.

2008 jeep patriot wiring has gone haywire. took

Open the power distribution center box near the battery and remove the asd relay that should shut it down. as for the problem itself, it could be a bad relay, a bad ignition switch or some odd ball thing that needs testing to find.
Good luck!

Leaking brake fluid from left front caliper

Should be under warranty if it is under 36K. That is unless you wore out the pads so far as to pop the piston out.

Single knock sound from dead stop or when slowing down

I had the same problem on a brand new 2008 JEEP Patriot. The solution after 2 trips to the dealer was to tighten all the suspension bolts in the front. Note wether your problem is in the front or rear and go to the dealer.
