Sounds like the Transmission Shift cable linkage has broken. If you can move the shifter, but there is no transmission change - that would be my first guess.

Check the fluid level!! there are sensors inside the gearbox, starting on a hill would give a different reading to the flat, worth a try, auto wont work properly if fluid has either got too old or level is low

Did you try locking it to see if it could possibly have a reverse effect. Or if theres a short in the wireing harness

look down on top of the transmission you should see a flat lever, just click it until u are in neutral

95 mazda 626 automatic transmition....will not reverse

Check you transmission fluid level and if it's not your transmission, I'm thinking that your brake shoe lineing in the rear brakes may have separated and is jamming up aginst the drums when your trying to back up. Sorry can't halp you with any more, good luck and start with that and hope it help's.

Air not coming out of vents with the fan on, fan is working, it like a flow control is stuck.

I have a mazda 626 88 model, i cannot use my gear, only gear 1&3 is working the rest gear refused to work and the reverse on gear refused to work as well. what do i do?
