On many systems, the abs light comes on if both brake lamps are blown. Have you checked that?

check the trans dipstick or the owner's manual for service intervals. most late model toyotas use a type T fluid and according to Toyota it does not need serviced.

Are you sure you want to do this? It's usually recommended to replace both left and front. since their lives are approximately the same. Before you do, please revue Repair manual. There may be a youtube video of how to.

get a workshop manual and it is many pages long.

cant read the FSM, (factory service manual or log into alldata.com and read all this, not have use , do all this the hard way? ok hard way, just for you, x2 , as brakes wear the handle can go wrong (emg. brake). but, dont mess with that yet that is last , or not at all. why? did you service the rear brakes first. by the book the FSM book and read the words on EMG, brake there. how to test it and make sure its right? here ill qoute the FSM just so you can see facts and truth. 1st things go 1st.

1. Make sure the brake shoes are properly adjusted first.
2. Pull the parking brake up using a normal amount of force and count the number of clicks. It should be between 6 and 8.
3. If not, remove the rear console box to access the parking brake adjuster.
4. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting nut until the travel is correct.
5. Tighten the lock nut and reinstall the rear console box.

the cars have both disk and drum brakes. on rear. the disc setup has a top hat rear shoe setup. like mine. the rotor stops car , with foot brake the here, inside it the top hat brake (drum) (put rotor on your head it looks like a top hat) thus the name. replace the shoes if bad.or just adjust them. per below I BET now the hand brake work like new. and no mess with 1-5 above. (99% of time)

my guess, NO SCAN TOOL? you can't fix car with out, a (drum roll) SCAN TOOL the modern car also cuts cruise for many reasons. (death) reason and #2, billion dollar class action suits. (read news?) so they now cut the cruise for lots of engine failures and trans. no scanning the PCM now, you lose. 2004 RAV 4 no engine stated. if it has TBW (throttle by wire ) that too, cuts CRUISE big time if iffy yes,DTCs for TBW or limphome of any kind !!! what engine, we cant fix engine issues, with out that. only about 10% here post that. so most answer are wrong. imagine with body shells missing , see that < what is it,its a drive train. what is yours? engine and trans. what? causes? Check engine light on runnning Scan tool shows, DTC errors. BINGO. scan tool show stuck on limphome? Throttle or idle errors of any kind? there is no cruise module on ours USA> The PCM mimics that in pure software (fact) so if the PCM is unhappy, it does in fact cut cruise. no scan tool makes all this IMPOSSIBLE on all newer cars !!!! see PCM see throttle motor, bingo its cruise TOO.

they are a one piece, sealed unit. You will break the entire lamp if you attempt this

if you could see it just remove your battery negative cable and i think its a 12,10 mill,socket you would need then unplug the wire and remove the old horns and replace them

might need servicing,or incorrect idle speed,check your fuel pressure,check for vacuum leaks it could also have a valve clearances problem

Hi, have you scanned the vehicle to see why your check engine light is on? IF no, you need to. Toyota/Lexus computer system illumniates both engine light and VSC lights whenver a fault occurs in either unit. VSC or stability control is like trac-control or ABS braking system. Get car scanned and make sure all computers are scanned for additional codes, repair them first reset lights and test drive. ON a side note, fixing check engine light will usually take VSC light away also, however sometimes the VSC system will glitch out and a Steering Angle relearn is necessary, it takes about 3mins to perform and a good quality scan tool with 2004 current software. sounds like the freewhell clutch on the alternator is worn and not spinning the alternator fast enough at low revs to put a charge into the battery.

You'll need to buy a tensioner release tool to do the job. Any auto parts store sells them. Use the tool to release the tension by moving the pulley enough to get the belt off . Route the new belt around all the pulleys on the engine according to the diagram sticker under the hood.once you're ready to put tension on the new belt, move the pulley again and put the belt under the pulley. Release the tool and you're done.
