91 4 runner immobiliser with an equator immobiliser
I have a toyota4 runner which has an equator immobiliser now she won't fire have spark and fuel but won't start As old as this vehicle is you might think of replacing it with one that fires has spark and fuel.Goodluck )
On most vehicles you gently squeeze the sides together allowing the glove box to simply drop out of the way. Others have screws (some around the edge others have two on either side if the catch)

It is there for a reason and if you think that you can control a skid situation then do so. But a dealer spare will be costly so I would look around for an after market unit or one from the Toyota wreckers and have it fitted . It might just save your life.
