I have a 2002 porsche boxster and the dash light will not turn until I lock the door manually.
This is a problem with Porsche cars. What you need is a trickle charger or use the car on a more regular basis to keep the battery charged. If you have a garage with power get yourself a trickle charger and leave the battery on charge when not using the car. If this is not posible charge the battery up fully start the car and see if your dash lights go out. If they don't go off it might be your alternator is not working, get it checked out, or do it yourself if you can.
