2001 Audi A6 Quattro, 2.8l 30 valve. How do I set the cams and crank timing without damaging the valves when the timing belt was removed with the engine not on TDC

Remove the spark plugs and measuring the distance through the plug holes with a rod, very gently turn the crankshaft (either way) until you are certain all the pistons are well below tdc and then gently bring the camshaft(s) to the timing position, followed by bringing the crank to the timing position.

Where is turn signal relay located on 2001 Audi A6 2.7T?

It doesn't have a stand alone relay like older cars and trucks, it is a synthetic click that is produced by the Body control module through the driver door speaker.

2001 a6 2.7t quattro start , but will not continue to run?

One likely possibility why the engine loses power and stalls could be because of the air compression rate going from the engine air filter and the engine, which is the AIR MASS METER HOSE located between the air filter box and the engine, which could be cracked. This happens when a careless mechanic changes the engine air filter without untightening the ring that holds the hose to the air filter box, causing the hose to be twisted to the point of breakage. It is not immediately apparent, but checking its condition would be the first thing to do. capture10-undefined-undefined-0_0.jpg

ABS light is on and breaks seem to be locked

I just ran into a similar problem with my vehicle. ABS sensor wires commonly fall into places they should and get rubbed down or fall right off so that could be part of the problem and as far as brakes locking up, the brake caliper has 2 (I believe) pistons that if not lubed during last brake service COULD be causing your problem. I was estimated $1200 at my local Midas I was able to buy brand new rotors, both left and right rear calipers and pads for $320 roughly and it took me 3 hours to do myself with the help of a socket set. Brakes are a relatively easy task to tackle. Good Luck

Abs light is and breaks seem to be locked

You may have exceeded your "throw", braking shoe/ pad distance, and locked up one wheel or more. Calipers and shoe pistons have tolerances on distance they can go, and if a disk or drum has exceeded its usefulness and worn past the tolerances allowed, a cylinder or caliper may lock up after pushing out to far.

My stere is in completely safe mode

You need to take the radio out and write down the serial number. Then call you Audi dealer and provide him with the serial number and the VIN number of the car. Some dealer provide the radio code look up for free; other charge for the service. The code is written on a perforated card inside your operator manual.

No power from fuse to feul pump

Hi William: First confirm that the fuse is good. Then confirm (use voltmeter) that there is power at that fuse. Then use the meter to check for power at the fuel pump. Odds are that you either have a broken wire or a bad connection, possibly where the wire connects to the fuel pump. Confirm that the ircuit is grounded. Hope this helps
