It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

40RV52U stuck in initial setup mode
Hi Marc,
I think that you need to have a technician look at it. Unless of course it's still within warranty, in which case return it for replacement/ repair.

I am having trouble with the initial setup of channels, I can't seem to lock in the HD channels when going thru the beginning setup
The normal method is to do a full auto scan and once it's at 100% store or save the scanned list?if you try to do it manually you will take ages because some channels the polarity switches and parameters for the horizontal and vertical parts of the dish change frequency.
so make sure the cable is connected properly into tv or smart box and rescan.once it's reached 100% look for the save or store button on screen.the hd channels should be automatically put within the saved list and usually colour coded in the menu.when selecting channels.
