Check age of gas. Cannot be more than 30 days old. Make sure to use fresh gas w/synthetic 2-cycle oil @ 40:1 ratio (1 gal.) Gas to 3.2 oz. Oil). Do not use old or stale oil/gas mixture. Always use the proper oil/gas mix. If you do not, your engine will suffer rapid, permanent damage. May need to clean or replace carburetor, fuel lines, and fuel filter.

SOURCE: I'd like to have a little diagram of the correct

unfortunatly there arent any diagrams, my best advise would be to install the fuel lines leaving excess to trim off as you route them betwixt and between. remember that the fuel lines complete a circuit and that the primer bulb does not pressure up the carb, all it does is circulate fuel through the system and makes a loop

hope this helps and good luck

It does not start

During maintenance or replacement of the hoses it is easy to swap the hose connections at the primer. The center connection from the primer connects to the return hose that connects into the tank. The feed from the carburetor connects to the side connection of the primer bulb.

If the tank is full it can fool you as you prime because the return line to the tank that is full can be a pickup of unfiltered fuel and bring debris and air into the carburetor.

The primer pulls the fuel through the carburetor purging the air out. Usually seven strokes are recommended. You can observe through the primer bulb the air as it is purged resulting in no air left in the primer or carburetor..

McCulloch 28cc Gas Blower MB3200, it doesn't appear to be getting gas from the lines INTO the carb... You can pump the primer bulb but it WILL NOT push it into or out of the carb... Any help???

The primer should pull fuel out of the carb, into the bulb and dump it back to the tank, if the fuel filter in the tank is blocked, or the fuel hose is split no fuel will enter the carb, so the primer will not fill, replace the filter and the fuel hose.

Mcculloch BL150 Blower. Both fuel lines from tank to primer have broken. The holes in tank body suggest two different fuel line sizes.? 2mm ID & ?. Is there an exploded view of the connection-...

Usually the smallest hose is the suction line in the tank and the larger hose is the return hose to the tank. The primer bulb should have 2 different size hose barbs.

Poulin pro chain will not get gas to engine all parts are clean and it has gas

Possible plastic hose running from fuel tank to primer or from fuel tank to carb is broken or cracked. Remove cover to access the carb and inspect hoses for cracks or being broken. Also inside fuel tank the hoses can break off and not be notice from the outside. The hoses can be replaced but not easily. Small engine parts store should have fuel hose.

I need info on a Poulan Pro 445 fuel line routing

I'm so confused. This is reported as a Poulan and McCulloch pole saw, which one? Is it a pole saw? That is the only 445 Poulan I can find. It is reported as an electric but has a fuel routing problem.

If it is a Poulan Pro gas pole saw it is here: PP445 Gas Pole Pruner
The fuel system routing is terrible, but it is all there is.
Fuel Routing follows:
Tank to carburetor (hose in tank with filter on free end)
Carburetor to primer (primer draws fuel from the tank through the carb)
Primer to fuel tank (returns any excess fuel to tank when pushed) HTH

Replacing broken gaslines... were do they go?

the primer bulb draws gas through the carb 'C' and back to the tank'T' leaving a small amount of fresh gas in the carb.to replace the lines from filter to carb & bulb to tank, you may have to remove handle & split the housing halves to find where lines enter tank.look in tank W/ a flashlight.to replace lines cut new line on an angle, feed a piece of # 14 copper wire through hole from inside tank.slide new line over wire, the wire will help align fuel line with hole.use needle-nose pliers to push line into tank,& to pull it through once you can see it.cut off end of hose you beat up with pliers.push filter on hose to carb.drop it back in tank."T' line is the return.dosn't matter which line is through top or bottom hole.

McCulloch Chainsaw carb not getting fuel

This is the same problem I have with a Mac 3200. I have: (1) A line from the primer bulb to the front port on the carburator. (2) line from fuel tank, with attached fuel filter, to the other primer bulb port. (3) Line from port on back of carb. to ????. I thought it must be a pulse line, but not certain, and don't know where to run it to. Please let me know when you find out.

Primer pump rotten need replacement show parts page

The hoses run through a hole into the gas tank, they are fitted with a filter inside the tank. Drain the tank, and manipulate the hose end to where you can grab it throught he filler hole, Remove the filter, run new gas lines into the tank and through the filler hole to replace the filter, reattach to the carburator. The primer bulb should have 4 small screws attaching it to the carburator. Remove the screws, place in new primer bulb, and you should be back to trimming asap.

Fuel hose routing problem on a Mac 3200 Chainsaw

This post helped me with my McCulloch Mac 3216 chainsaw. There are two holes in the gas tank - one above the other. One is for the gas line (with the filter on the end) and the other is for the overflow - a simply line that runs from the "out" nipple on the primer bulb into the gas tank. The filtered fuel line goes to the nipple on the back of the carb. Another short line goes from the "in" nipple on the primer bulb to the nipple on the front of the carb.

There are two notches just out from the two holes in the gas tank for holding the lines that go in -- this may help you locate the holes.

I found it helpful to pull the lines that go into the gas tank out through the gas cap hole and leave them hanging out until the housing was reassembled. I also left the lines that plug into the primer bulb hanging out through the hole where the bulb goes until the housing was put back on. Leave plenty of extra line for the lines going out to the primer bulb. Once the housing is in place, cut the lines to the primer bulb and attach them, and slip the lines into the tank, making sure the ends are as far down in the tank as possible. You will need this extra "slack" to work with the housing to get it back on.
