Incompatible audio version

Hello. I updated my StreetPilot c340 to 6.10 version from Garmin site. After that when I tried to change voice language to Romanian and an error message appears "Incompatible audio version". I installed StreetPilotc3xxAudio_260.exe downloaded from Garmin suport site but still don't work. I tried with WebUpdater.exe and WebUpdater_Lang.dll but still don't work. Could you please help me to fix this problem because I need guidance voice in Romanian ? Thank you verry much

Everytime i power on my device, i get a warning ' Incompatible audio version' any ideas how to correct it?

You can try selecting a different voice. On the GPS go to Tools, Settings, Language and click on the Voice (top left) select another voice that has (TTS) listed beside the name.

No sound in the Garmin GPS

Apparantly a common problem.

My 760 randomly defaults to a non TTS (text to speech) setting. When it does, it won't speak the directions.

Solution from the Garmin Site:

Answer:
This could occur if the voice language has been de-selected. If you can hear the device produce a beeping noise then the voice language needs to be changed or selected. If you do not hear any noise then the FM Transmitter might be selected or the sound has been Muted.
To check the voice language:
  1. Touch Tools
  2. Touch Settings
  3. Touch Language
  4. Touch the Voice option
  5. Touch on a selection that has TTS* in the description (example: American English - Jill - TTS)
  6. Touch OK
  7. Touch Back
The device should speak when in a route.
*Note - If the device is a 755, 765, 775, 785 then the selection will contain "Speaks Street Names" in the description.

Can I change the voice on my gps?

You can change the voice and you can choose British English, Dansk, Deutsch, Espanol, Francais, Franais Canadien, Italiano, Nederlands, Nederlands/ Belgie, Norsk, Portugues, Suomi or Svenska. You turn on the Garmin and on the bottom press onto the tool ( looks like a wrench or something ) and it will bring you to a screen with several choices just click on language and it will then let you choose. We change them around for fun sometimes. Good Luck

Voice is dragging

Common problem. A friend's is giving him the silent treatment. Of all the reading I've done, it's related to a corrupted audio file. A reinstall of the system might help but a software update or firmware update most likely would provide a fix.

Changing the voice

No, but you can change the spoken language. New models Streetpilot C5xx and Nuvi allow you to change the voice either to male or female.

Voice Prompt

My husband had the same problem with his i2 Street Pilot.
He went to the Garmin web site and downloaded the latest
updated software version. You can then chose the language options, too.

Nuvi 660 audio update?

This series of Nuvi has 2 sets of voices for several of the available languages. The standard set is pre-recorded words linked together to form directions. This voice is usually clearer. However you lose street names and expanded vocabulary. The Text-To-Speech (TTS) voices are reading letters to form words, and uses an algorithm to come up with the approximate pronunciation of the word. This may sound less clear, but provides street names. So, you can select a standard voice (settings-locale-voice language) and lose some functionality, or select one of the many TTS voices and try to find one that doesn't offend the ear.
