I bought a second monitor because my dog shewed and destroyed the the first handheld monitor. But how can I add the old video camera to the new monitor. I go to Add/Del Cam. But when I go to "add camera" and hit the knob, it won't add the camera. What am I doing wrong? They are both the same model - 02644.

SOURCE: How do I add an extra camera to this monitor?

I had the same problem, but just figured it out! The Instructions that come with the camera are wrong (obviously).
So instead of holding down just the "video on/off" button for 2 seconds...Hold down the power button AND the "video on/off button together for 2 seconds.
Then the power led will flash amber and you can hit the code button on the camera and it will work!

SOURCE: When hitting the power button on the handheld unit

It's finicky. You have to hold the power button down for a few seconds.

How do I synce the camera back to same monitor

I just barely had this problem and was able to figure it out.

You need to hit the "ok" button on the side of the handheld monitor. It will only let you select "add camera".

Hit ok again and it will give you a list of 4 camera's.

Now at this point you will need the actual camera and handheld monitor. You need to hold down the "code" button on the back of the camera and select "camera 1" in the list of 4 cameras. This should sync it back and you should have picture again!

I hope that helps :)

I would like to hook up my old monitor, product LT782s, model 700P, to my new monitor so I can have duel monitors. The cord has 2 screws to attach. The new monitor does not have any place for a "scr

You need to connect both monitors to a computer. Monitors do not daisy-chain (in general). The exception are some SCART-enabled monitors.

What is your source (desktop)? What is the make/model of your new monitor? Please add a comment with the video outputs/inputs for your source and second monitor.

Many newer desktops have two or three outputs. (Some video cards have display port outputs which with active adapters can support 2 monitors each.)

If your computer has two or more outputs and your new monitor has an input compatible with the extra output, get the appropriate DVI, DVI-HDMI or HDMI cable for your new monitor. See the next section if both monitors have VGA input.

If you have a desktop with only one video output, you may be able add a video card to support two monitors. (Depending on your computer, you may need to upgrade the power supply to support a video card.) Then get the appropriate adapter or cables to add the second monitor. (Note: if both of your monitors have only VGA inputs, check the specs for video cards carefully. Not all modern cards support analog outputs on their DVI, HDMI or Display Port connections. These digital outputs would require a digital to analog converter to give the VGA out.) However, if one of your monitors will accept DVI digital signals and the other VGA, add a card with one of each of these connections and a DVI cable to match. (This is an if needed extra; many monitors still ship with only a VGA cable.)

Then turn off your computer, open it and add the video card. Install the drivers with only one monitor attached. Then power down the computer and connect the second monitor. Turn on both monitors before turning on the computer again. Most of the time, the second monitor should be recognized (by Windows) and the appropriate refresh rate and resolution chosen. If not, you may need to enter the Display settings to set the monitor up.

I have seen some computers/video cards where only one output is initially enabled. You may have to go into the device settings to enable it. (Laptops often need their external video ports enabled in the BIOS.) Bad video ports/cards/cables do happen so RMA if needed.

The USB video adapter, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812225007 , can be added to a desktop to give a second VGA output but it isn't the best solution. USB bandwidth limits are significantly lower than those for a PCIe x16 slot or an old AGP slot.

I hope this helps. Please add more information about your system if you want more assistance with this problem.

(who has done dual monitors with older and newer computers. My old Pentium 4 with a Radeon x1350 video card was fine for driving a VGA monitor and an HDMI monitor (using a DVI to HDMI cable). My second generation i5 and P8Z68 motherboard system is also fine using the on-CPU video graphics for those same monitors. A video card would improve gaming but isn't required.)

My baby somehow deleted the camera that came with the monitor and I do not know how to add a camera. How do I add the camera back to the monitor?

I know I can easily go through and delete the bad ones once I view them on a larger screen or have had time to soak them in - but the fact is by the time I find time to do just that, I've already accumulated quite a few hundred photos and then its a daunting task.

My summer best view handheld video monitor says out of range and will not pair.

Have you tried pressing the pairing button at the back of the camera unit and press the scroll button at the center of the receiveing monitor at the same time as suggested by the manual? I had the same problem, followed the manual instructions and solved it. (Greetings from Mexicali, M

I can't get the monitor and the camera to sync.

Turn on your monitor and camera. Click the menu button and choose, add camera. As soon as you do, push the "code" button in on the back of the camera. You should see a picture soon after.

Had summer baby monitor for eight months, last night it stopped

Your monitor has become unpaired with your camera. Follow the instructions in the manual to pair them again (basically, tell the monitor piece to Add New Camera while you press the Pair button on the camera). The manuals can be downloaded from www.summerinfant.com.

I just accidentally deleted the camera from the handheld and cannot get it back... now it says no camera is available. This is actually for the Best View monitor (Summer)....so far a piece-o-****.

I know this is an old post but I was having the same problem w/ my monitor. It's an older version but I believe the only difference is it doesn't have the soother. I have the best view day/night handheld. Anyway, I couldn't find help so I did this. From the main menu on the monitor, go 2 add/delete camera & select it by pressing in the middle button that moves the camera around. There is a button on the camera itself. I faced the camera & monitor 2ward eachother & pressed the button on it, along w/ the center (toggle/select) button in the front of the handheld monitor. Careful though, cuz it'll add it more than once & u will have 2 go back & delete.
