We are a UK based web design company. We have built websites for 4 Irish Companies. All have purchased new domains from Eircom direct. We have been trying to set these live for the past two months but seem to be going around in circles. The last contact we had from Eircom was a request for our hosting IP Address which is 79.170.40.237 this was supplied over a week ago but has not resulted in any response despit chasers. This sounds like a company that I wouldn't want to work with for any extended period of time. Thankfully, once you purchase domain names they are yours to do with what you wish and there is no law stating that you must leave your domains with that company. People transfer domains from one management registrar to another all the time.

I personally use GoDaddy because I can do zone updates myself. It's quick, easy and pretty reliable.
