If you haven't changed all the batteries in the remote controlled system, now is the time to do so. Keep in mind, there is a battery(s) in the hand held remote and in the receiver inside the cowling of the fan.
When changing batteries, ALL batteries should be changed at the same time.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Honeywell Marston Ceiling Fan. Why has remote stopped turning the light off?

Dwayne, Try a new battery in remote, if that does not fix, replace your remote, replacements can be found at the larger hardware stores, eg. home depot, lowes, etc.

I have a hunter fan which operates using remote contraol part #85095-01. Recently, the remote has stopped operating the fan's light. The fan operates by remote, but I cannot turn the light off.

you need to replace the receiver. I ran across this problem at a customer's house and replaced it. It's located at the top in the canopy where the wires connect at.

Hunter ceiling fan remote problem

You will most likely need to replace the receiver with a new one from hunter. The receiver is actually a complete controller and contains the receiver, relays (which you hear clicking) and starting condensors(large capacitors which hold a charge that is "dumped" over the windings to get the motor to start from a dead stop). These appear to be pretty tightly assembled unless you have a desire to start replacing parts "off the board."

Fan remote operates fan, won't operate light

If you press and hold the light button, it will step up in brightness to max then back down to dark. Then when you press the button briefly it will turn off and then press button briefly again it will turn on at the intensity you had it at last. So if you are one tick from off you may not notice it is "on" because it is dark. A second possibility is that you replaced the bulbs with a compact flourescent and they are not always happy with adjustable brightness, often they will be on or off, no middle ground. I recommend sticking with old school bulbs in the fan.

Remote control ceiling fan

Possibly a bad circuit board in the ceiling fans remote function. I would suspect that the circuit board has a thermal issue where once warm it works fine. The most common fault that I have seen is a bad solder connection on the board. Pull the board from the fan and check all solder connections for cracks or dull solder. If you see any of these then reflow the solder connections. If this does not work you probably will need to order a new board from the manu.

Hunter ceiling fan

Sounds like the remote receiver units (located where the mains connect to the fans) took a surge and have failed.
