Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

Lines in view finder and on pics. also pics come out pinkish

The problem is a faulty CCD. Replacing the CCD yourself is possible but its really a difficult task. It is cheaper to simply buy another used z1275, because a CCD can cost about the same as a used camera. You can also buy parts-cameras but you don't know if the CCD is good or not. Ebay always has a good selection of cameras..

It will turn on, ask for date set, wheather you press yes or cancel it automatically turns off

Make sure that you are installing a fresh/ full charge battery
Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.
4. Pls test with an alt. batt.
If you do not have access to a dif. battery.
Pls. take the batt out of the camera. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the batt. If not you will need to order a No power repair.

Brand new long life AA batteries only lasting 15mins

Hi there.
This is a common problem with just about any digital camera out there (even my own).
After spending loads of money on top named brands and types i found that Duracell Alkaline batteries lasted just about the longest in my camera which is a Samsung S 500. Even so i would advise that you stock on them because the camera's do tend to eat the battery power.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
