The maker will only brew about a cup perhaps two at a time before shutting off. Works fine when we pour water into the reservoir but does not work as it should when the water supply is feeding the machine.
Sounds like your screen on the water inlet is plugged. remove fitting on water inlet, then clean or replace the screen. this is normal maintenance especially with hard water.

I realize you think it does not need descaling to to it 'not being used much.'
However you may have hard water and I would think descaling is definitely worth a try. There might be scale built up on the water level probes in you machine.
To begin, you will need the following:
• 48 ounces of undiluted white vinegar
• Large ceramic mug (do not use a paper cup)
• Access to an empty sink
PREPARE
Step 1:
Empty the water in the Water Reservoir.
Step 2:
Disable "Auto Off features."
FILL AND CLEAN
Step 1:
Pour approximately 48 ounces of the vinegar into the Water Reservoir.
Step 2:
Place a large mug on the Drip Tray Plate and run a brew cycle.
(DO NOT USE A K-CUP)
Just press the BREW Button. Pour the contents of the large mug into the sink.
Step 3:
Repeat the brew process without a K-Cup until "ADD WATER"
is indicated.
Step 4:
Now let the Brewer stand for at least 4 hours while still on.
Step 5:
Discard any residual vinegar and rinse the Water Reservoir thoroughly.
RINSE
Step 1:
Ensure the Water Reservoir is filled with fresh water.
Step 2:
Place a large mug on the Drip Tray Plate and water brew cycle. Pour the contents of the large mug into the sink.
Step 3:
Repeat brew process until "ADD WATER is indicated.
Step 4:
You may need to perform additional water brew cycles if you notice any residual taste.
It may be time to descale. Most models will give you a message when it's time to have the mineral deposits cleaned.
HERES HOW TO DO THAT...
Empty water resevoir. Disable auto off. Pour approx 48 oz of undiluted white vinegar into resevoir. PLace large mug on drip plate, run brew cycle, dump contents of mug in sink. DO NOT USE A K-CUP.
Repeat this process until the add water light is indicated.
Let brewer stand for at least 4 hours while still on.
Discard any residual vinegar in the resevoir and rinse thorughly.
AFTER approx 4 hours...fill resevoir with water.
RINSE:
PLace a large mug on the drip plate and water brew cycle. Pour the contents of the mug into the sink.
REPEAT this brew process until the add water light is indicated.
YOU MAY NEED TO REPEAT THIS "RINSE" PROCESS if you notice any residual taste.

Take out the used kcup and GENTLY explore the holder fitting. There should be a sharp point in the bottom that punctures the bottom of the kcup to allow the brew to flow out the spigot and into your cup. There also needs to be a sharp point on the top to punch a vent hole for the water to enter. It they aren't both open, coffee and grounds will spray everywhere. Take it apart and clean thoroughly as well.
"Scale" is deposits of minerals, etc. normally found in water. Boiling a container of water (in a pot, or coffee maker in this case), leaves small amounts or "deposits" of these minerals on and near the actual heat source. If not removed, they can slow brewing time and more importantly, adversely affect the taste of coffee.
Descaling should be done at regular intervals to prevent this from happening. Your machine lets you know when to perform the descaling task. There are a number of products sold in your supermarket that will do this for you - but one of the least expensive; and just as effective - is to use white vinegar. Here's how to do it:
1) Drain your Keurig coffee machine over a sink. 2) Fill the machine with undiluted white vinegar. 3) Run the brew process at least four times, pouring the cups of vinegar back into the coffee maker. 4) Optionally, let your Keurig coffee maker sit for a few hours, then run the brew
cycles again. Pour the vinegar into the sink and drain any remaining
vinegar. 5) Fill your coffee maker with fresh water. Run
multiple brew cycles with fresh water each time to thoroughly rinse the machine before returning to normal
use.
That's it!
I know this will help & good luck. Please rate my reply - thanks!
Make a 1/2 pot 50/50 mixture of cold water and white vinegar then run it through the machine in normal brewing fashion. Place a clean filter in the brewing cup to catch the white deposits that are removed. Allow the mixture to cool, then repeat the process several times while using the same filter. Finally, run several pots of fresh water through to work out the taste of the vinegar. Repeat whenever the brewing time seems to be excessive.
We were having the same problem of it quitting the brew cycle about 1/2 way through. We put a mixture of 5 cups vinegar & 5 cups water through followed by a pot of just water and now it works like new. The vineagr must clean some sort of built in sensor.
This is a real problem with these coffee makers, and there's not much that can be done. However, there is a work around: before brewing, just hit the
button to brew 1-4 cups. It'll still brew a whole pot, it'll use all
the water, the coffee will taste no different, and you can still
program it however you'd like. Cheers!
