Hi,
This kind of symptoms indicated that the voltage regulator IC (BA4916) is already faulty. It gone to overload after a while of operation and shutdown itself. I will recommend you to replaced also the following capacitors.
C227 - 10uf/16v
C229 - 10uf/16v
C225 - 100uf/16v
C228 - 47uf/16v
C224 - 22uf/16v
These capacitor filter the voltages in and out of IC102(BA4916).
Your unit will back to normal again after the said parts have been replaced.
Hope I help you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Parts

There may be a fuse link or diode inside of the unit. You would have to dissasemble to locate. Depending on your skills, you can do this yourself. It would probably be expensive to have a shope repair it.

Clarion marine M455A

Go to the CLARION website and look for CUSTOMER SERVICE. You can either call or e-mail a description of your dilemma with the radio. The company stands behind their products. If it is still under warranty you may find it easier to first go to the store where it was purchased. They will give you a new unit if it is within the 30-day purchase date or at least offer to send it to Clarion for repair. Make sure you get a RETURN AUTHORIZATION number from the company. As far as being a "marine" radio, it is still an electrical product in a wet environment. The radio chassis is protected with a stainless plate to shield the circuitry. There is gasketing to prevent moisture from entering. Even the so-called waterproof handheld vhf radios claiming submersible protection have a limit to how long it can remain submerged before it loses watertight integrity. If saltwater invades to circuitry, immediately disconnect the power source (never try to turn it on if it IS wet.) and remove the unit so that you can RINSE as soon as possible the exposed electrical connections with FRESH WATER to remove the salt BEFORE it drys and becomes encrusted. Do Not allow the salt water to dry and become encrusted and the damage is done. Salt destroys electrical connections; eats 'em up! THEN blow-dry on a low setting and set it aside to complete the drying out process. Some wags suggest placing it in the oven on alow setting. I DON'T. Good Luck.

I have a clarion m455a marine raidio in our new boat. It has two cmrc3d remote control stations. niether one of them work. Why

Sorry I can't help you...but wanted to let you know you are not alone. I bought a 2007 Chap last March and have the same problem. I've covered all the basic/common sense troubleshooting but can't get them to function. My frustration is that the displays work so the clock/radio station is displayed but nothing in regards to controlling the deck.

How do you set the clock on a Clarion MO350 marine radio/casette player? Rick

After spending an hour, here is how you do it. With the radio playing, press and hold the BAND button, until the word MANUAL displays in the bottom left. Then press and hold BAND, plus DISP (4). The radio will then go into Clock mode. You can change the hours by pressing the left scan, and the minutes by pressing the right scan. When finished, press the BAND button. To exit MANUAL mode, press and hold the BAND button.
