Solenoid has short in it. I have had aftermarket starters do that. Not all aftermarket parts works like suppose to. You buy cheap you most likely are gonna get cheap and have more problems. Remove starter and solenoid and have tested. I worked for a jd dealer and i own a gx345 and thats what mine did when i bought from another person replaced starter and solenoid and problem went away but had old starter and solenoid tested and had bad solenoid.
Sounds like solenoid is either wired wrong or is bad

SOURCE: INSTALLING THE MOWER DECK ON JOHN DEERE 345
Can't help you completely but I believe the brass colored bar coming from deck towards front should be on top of the black bar that puts the tension on. I had it on the bottom and the both bars ended up under the deck.
SOURCE: Hello my name is John. I have a 345 John Deere
345's have a habit of the choke sticking at the carb.Another problem they have is the fuel pump diaphram will crack and allow your engine to fill up with fuel,to much fuel in crankcase will end up past the rings when not running and smoke pretty bad when fired up.
SOURCE: problem with John Deere L120 tractor
Park brake switch is the most likely culprit, any other would cause the tractor to not turn over in the crank position.
SOURCE: My John Deere 345 dies for no apparent reason
You have dirt in the fuel tank and it sucks the dirt up on the filter that is attached to the pump. After the machine stalls, the dirt falls off and it will restart and run for a few min.
