The steam in my handheld steam shot does not seem to be very hot therefore the surfaces, specially cloth ones do not get clean properly. What should I do?

If it steams it is as hot as it is going to get. Water steams at 212 degrees F at sea level so the only way to increase that heat is to pressurize that steam to a higher density than sea level which is about 32lbs per sq. in. Your steamer has no method to pressurize that steam to increase that heat. Conversely, as the pressure decreases, say you live in Denver which is about 5000 ft above sea level, then that steam will only get to about 203 degrees F. (See: http://whatscookingamerica.net/boilpoint.htm) Steam Cleaning at best is a poor method of cleaning as all it does is saturate the clothing item with water, which in theory loosens dirt, but no way is provided to remove the dirt. A rug shampooer has a vacuum that sucks the dirt away from the carpet along with the suds for a better cleaning method. In my opinion a hand steamer will only remove wrinkles at best.

Prolectrix 3 tier steam

Is the unit spraying ok? If not then the heater may be plugged. Other than that, you should fill the tank with hot tap water, the the heater will only heat it alittle more, you won't really see steam.
