How do you drain the fuel tank on a Miller Bobcat 225 with a Koehler engine?

  • pplmelita Jun 01, 2011

Didn't help a bit since I had put deisel in my gas welder & my fuel filter level left 3-4 gallons in the tank. I expected to get diagrams & explicit instructions instead of 'duh-drain it at the fuel line.'. This site is a waste of money. I paid 12$ for 1 professional solution. What a hoax. Don't waste your money.

Hi pplmelita,

If you don't have a petcock to turn the fuel off below the tank, I would disconnect the line at the filter and drain the gas out that way.
If you're wanting completely drain all old gas out, drain as above and then run until dry.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

Handie Andie

I have a Miller Bobcat 225. It will not start and run with out pouring gas into the carb? I have changed fuel line and filter? Help!!! Please

Check fuel pump and check carburetor bowl for stuck needle. If fuel was left in engine stuck needle or plugged jets. Confirm that choke is fully closing when cold.

Hope this helps?

Why does my miller bobcat welder generator not stay at an idle when swithed to low idle, insted it goes back and forth to high then to low idle?

The unit may need recalibrating the idle/run setting. Instructions found in manual at 8-6 (subaru engine) and 9-5 (kohler). Idle speed around 2200rpm. Simple screw adjustment. PDF manual here :- http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o4434l_mil.pdf

Miller gasoline tank leaking from meter

Depending on machine model and sn you need to order the fuel gauge repair kit from a distributor. It will have all of the parts needed and instructions on the removal and installation of the new part. This is a commom problem that we are seeing with the Bobcat and Trailblazers. I can drop ship the part from Miller to you if needed. Feel free to contact me at (803) 609-8518 William Scott.

Have a 225 bobcat welder wont stay running can add fuel to carberator but if i stop sparing fuel in unit stops??

The fuel pump is one of the probable faults, or the needle valve in carb is stuck in closed position.

If the fuel hose is removed at carb, it should squirt gas as the engine is cranked over. If not, look in tank to see if the screen on the barb threaded into the tank has not clogged up with debris. If it is clean, replace fuel pump.

If it squrits gas- open up the carb and check to make sure the float is able to pull the needle valve down as well as the float level setting. When the bowl is exposed, look for sediment as well.
