Blue screen says MISSING OPERATING SYSTEM & I do not have a recovery disc, is there any other way to fix it?

hit the F9 key on startup and choose "Restore Factory Settings". This will reset your netbook to factory, unless you have a bad hard drive.

I WISH TO RETURN TO FACTORY SETTINGS

A number of these machines have a function that can restore to factory settings by pressing one of the special function keys at startup. There is a factory restore partition on the hard drive that keeps this info. So, if on startup you see a message such as "press F11 for restore" or something like that, do it.

HOW DO I RESTORE MY NETBOOK TO FACTORY SETTINGS?.

1) During boot-up press F9 continuously
2) In Black Screen select Factory Restore and enter
3) Agree with prompt and type in "YES" and then hit enter
4) Press Enter to reboot

I will warn you that this WILL erase all of your data and restore it to the way it was when it came out of the box.

F9 wont restore factory settings during the splash screen. is there a different button combo? running a8jp

F9 will restore factory screen only when its pressed in Bios settings screen ..to go there you have to press f2 or del during the start-up...(on boot) ..if you follow the screen that appears on boot ..you see that its says t press del to enter setup..immediately when it starts recognizing the devices..
after pressing f 9 in the bios press f10 to confirm the changes and exit ...but ..if this wha you want to restore is something related to the operating system it will not have much effect but in seeing the devices and restoring factory setings for them ...(hdd...ram mem ..CPU ..overclocking ..atc)
if you want to restore the operating system you either roll back to an earlier date by system restore in the control panel ( system maintenance ) or use a stored recovery procedure from the hdd...(if available ) or the recovery cd that came with the machine ...
remember that for some computers the recovery cd wil not contain the operating system ..so it will only restore factory settings for hot keys ..and drivers and them settings in original ..if you want to repair windows..you probably have to use a boot-able cd with operating system ..and boot from it and reinstall /repair..after case...
