Radio lock down on my pontiac sunfire 2005. how do i get the code to reset the radio? the battery failed and was restarted. now the radio does not work , it reads loc. i understand there is a proceedure to get the serial# of the radio and then i can get the code to unlock the radio. how do i go about retrieving the serial # so i may get thecode. i also understand that the sunfire after 2003 received a different type of radio and the proceedure is different than the previous years. thank you .

Hello... sorry to hear you are having problems. You will have to remove the radio from the dash and retrieve the serial number from the top of the radio. You can then contact a GM dealership service department and they can give you the code. Do not press a bunch of buttons on the radio trying to get it to work because you only have a couple of tries before the radio locks down. Some dealerships charge for this service of giving you the code and some do it as a courtesy. Good luck with your venture and I hope this helps!
