If you are mechanically inclined, check for power at the starter when turning key to start. Where is your fusible link attached ? Try by passing starter solenoid, if engine turns over, you may have a bad starter.
If you have no warning lights, either a fuse is blown or the key switch is not powering the computer and the rest of the ignition system. If you check the fuses and all are in good condition, I would suspect the ignition switch.
Not starting?
If not, try this. Turn the key to on. Security light blinking? If yes, let it blink for 10 minutes + it will stop blinking. Remove key, then insert key and start car. Computers went bad on these often.
make sure that your battery is fully charge if it is. you have a starter problem and that should take care of you problem. let me know if i helped you. thank you.
if key has a chip in it the lock cylinder is bad it has wires that sense that chip i've got a new one pluged it in at base of steering column with new key in it and used old key as normal
If everything else checks out Ok in the ignition system (electrical) and if the engine and transmission turn freely, that sound like you might have starter drag.Check to see if you have good connections at the starter.I know its new but check your battery for 12 volts, good connections, ect.
Tapping the starter does not always work. I would check all the connections on the battery and starter. If these are good replace the starter. Don't forget the grounds.
