I just purchased a new HTC Inspire 4G cell phone from AT&T. I downloaded the current version of HTC Sync(3.0.5511) onto my PC so I can transfer music videos & photos from my PC to my cellphone. Once I downloaded the HTC Sync onto my PC I connected my Inspire cellphone to my PC via the supplied USB cable that came with my phone. Whenever I connect my Inspire to my PC HTC Sync fails to recognize my Inspire 4G, which says 'No Device Connected' . Why does this always happen? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

Just a note:

HTC Sync cannot be used for file transfers of music and videos.

To do that, you need to remove your phone's memory card - insert it in a PC - download the Music/Videos to the PC - then transfer them to the memory card.

There might be something missing with the drivers on your computer. You should try first reinstalling the HTC Sync software. If that does not work then try searching for a "driver" for your phone online. I have seen in forums that people have had a hard time finding the necessary driver, but maybe soon HTC will have an updated one available.
Hopefully just reinstalling the program will work though.
I wish you the best of luck and thanks for using FixYa!

Its not that complicated. Follow selections on your pnone, menu>settings>pc connect. Default connection type is charging only. change it to disk drive or HTC sync, or whichever option you like. Then unplug your phone, wait 10 seconds, and replug. Thats it.

If you running Windows ( Vista onwards ) on PC , you may need some drivers from Micro$oft ... which for a change , are free .
Auto updates '' should '' update the drivers , once you connect the device , quite often it does not ... go to Microsoft Support Downloads and type in the device you need drivers for .
Good luck !!!

How can i get pc suite for my htc inspire 4g

Download HTC Sync and install it on your PC. It enables synchronization of Outlook contacts and calendar, as well as your media files (music, video). Prior to connecting your phone to your PC through a USB cable, on your phone, go to 'Menu > Settings > Applications > Development', and make sure you select 'USB debugging'. At the moment you connect your phone, you will be prompted to chose the USB connection type. Select 'HTC Sync'.
Hope it works for you.
Anyway, please, let me know if you need further informations.

I cant seem to get music to download from my laptop onto my htc incred

Hi,
You need to make sure that youre phone is connected to your PC via sync ( You need to install the htc driver on your PC and connect your phone using the appropriate cable) If this is done already you can manage to transfer all files from your PC to your Phone or vice versa.
Now if there is an error message in transferring files from PC to your phone you need to update the version of your sync.
Please click on the word below wherein you can download update for your sync:

Hi Whitefang.

It sounds to me like you have maxed your memory, so when you put on new files it deletes older ones.

Instead of using HTC sync for file loading just use Mass Storage and select memory card on your pc/laptop to upload files to any folder you wish. Make a "music" folder on your Sdcard and it will make things so much easier.
Also if you use the "Mass Storage" method your pc/laptop will tell you if your memory is full or nearly full.

When you plug in the USB cable into the phone use the connect to pc option instead of HTC sync.
