Can the pink and black interupt wire on my alpine cda 9805 be used with aftermarket blutooth module if switched?

The pink/black wire in the Alpine CDA-9805 harness is for Audio Interrupt . The Audio Interrupt feature is activated by grounding the pink/black wire. It appears that certain accessories, such as cell phones, can mute the CDA-9805 by sending a signal to the pink/black wire. Pontiac grand am wiring diagram

You will need the wire harness that is designed to connect to the stock stereo. Another option is to just install your alpine stereo in the car since you have the wiring harness for that. You will not be able to wire the harness for the alpine unit and have it match the plug type for your stock stereo.

Stereo diagram for 1990 geo prizm

Hello stoogieprezi,

You should have gotten a plug-in harness with your new Alpine. To avoid cutting or tapping the wires on your vehicle, you need to purchase an aftermarket wiring harness. It appears that the Metra 70-1782 is the correct one for the 1990 Prizm.

Then you simply match up the wires on your Alpine harness with the Metra harness. The wiring color code for the harness is shown on the bottom left of the "description" tab and matches up with the Alpine color code on page 18 of your owners manual.

Hope this helps.

No sound with USB and IPOD Apline IDA-X100

You connected your blue alpine wire (power antenna) to your blue wire (amplifier remote on) on the BMW harness adapter. You need to undo this, amputate your blue alpine wire (because your E36 has no power antenna) and connect the alpine blue wire with white stripe (remote power) to your blue wire on the harness adapter.

When you switch source from the radio, alpine is shutting off your amplifier through the connected power antenna wire. Since you're not listening to the radio anymore, it sees no reason why it should give it power.
