I have an ATI Radeon x1600 Pro 512 Mb. I am installing into a computer that I am reformatting and installing windows xp. When I get to the windows install screen it begins to examine the PC hardware configuration and then the screen goes all crazy with striped pixilated horizontal lines with colors. You cannot see anything through the lines.

Do you meet all these???If any installing Bug Try this!

1-go into safe mood and verify that the card is recognized
2-if you cant enter safe mood for some reason use ati flash just type atiflash -i
3-if you cant boot at all then try using a pci card and check for the cards status

either your power supply is faulty or something in the bios maybe wrong......you should give more info

first thing first ensure that you have the latest ATI radeon X1600 pro driver and software installed else you won't be able to get the desired options for dual display under settings coz it will be working with generic drivers.

1. uninstall or disable windows scripting

3. reinstall the oldest or original via s3 pro savage driver
