It sounds to me like your idler pulley pin is bent. The Toro part number 75-872. You can order it through a shop like www.arcolawn.com and have it shipped to you in a day or two.
Please vote my fix up if it helps.

My pull start will only come out a few inches, feels like it's stuck. This happened after it stalled in large amt of snow.

Not sure what the parts are called but mine did that and since mine was several years old and I never oiled it I loosened the recoil off and took it right off. The parts inside were rusty and dry. I shot oil on all the moving parts and bingo I was back in business.
Also I had ice build up another time so I pulled the machine in a heated building and let it all melt and dry off. Worked good after that.

Install scarper blade toro powerlite mod. 38182

On everyone I have ever seen, there are just three bolts that go through it into the auger housing. There is a notch that the scraper has that fits on to the end of the housing. You can see the drawing for it here - http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=toro_consumer&mn=38182%2C+Powerlite+Snowthrower%2C+2009+%28SN+290000001-290999999%29&dn=3358-429-383366-0008
I just picked one of the models for 38182 cause i think they are likely all the same, but if you want to be sure, use the list here - http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=Toro+Consumer&mn=38182 and choose the one that matches your serial number range. Then select the drawing to see the rotor assembly. Should be pretty easy except sometimes the heads of the bolts to keep the scraper on get wore down if the scraper bar wasn't changed when it should have been.

My toro 6.5hp 22" front drive mower does not dive

There is a transmission, a pinion gear connected to the belt end, and a larger bevel gear connected to the axle, all inside an aluminum shell, we could call it a basic transmission. On my Toro the bevel gear had flat spots on about a third of the teeth, hence it wasn't continuously driving the axle. A new pinion and bevel gear where found as a set on Ebay for $30 plus $5 shipping.

Also the plastic gears in each of the front wheels can wear out and you need new wheel assemblies, they cost about $15 apiece at Sears if you pick them up, $10 more if shipped. Take your old one in, they can match it.

My Toro Z4200 will not turn when i engage gear on my right hand, machine sat all winter in my garage, replaced battery, which i can understand, but why did the hydro-gear on right side quit working just...

Make sure the hydraulic transport bypass is not open. It may be that your belt idler is sticking for the drive system. Check under the machine and see if all the belts are tight. You might need to grease the idler arms.

See a local dealer like www.arcolawn.com for diagrams and parts.

Good luck

Toro powerlite 98 cc 16" Mod no 38182 ser

Hi,
Yes, you have a shear pin and that is probably the problem...
The shear pin often will not fall out and look like a normal piece but in fact be broken...
The shear pin usually is in the main shaft from the transmission to the auger drive...
Some are right on the auger its self...look around you will find it...

My toro snow blower runs good but it does spins

It sounds like the auger is not spinning. I recommend you look up your model at www.arcolawn.com and check that the parts look like the drawings. Check your belt, idler pulley and auger assy.
It is a simple system and won't take more than two hours to replace the bad parts.

good luck

im no expert but had a similar problem with an old craftsman mower. the belt keeper which is an L shaped piece of hardware located at the back of the deck next to the idler pulley spindal. Also could be the deck is cockeyed and needs to be leveled or the wrong v-belt.

How do I replace the belt on my toro model 20334 lawn mower

You will have to disconnect the deck from the tractor. There might be some rods hanging down by the pulley on the motor. You have to loosen those not remove. Then install the new belt with the inside of belt (V) into the pulleys. The outside of belt (flat side) goes up against any idlers (oversized pulleys). Once you get the belt routed properly the belt will be snug in the pulleys. If you have excess play you have to use trial and error to get the belt routed the right way around the idlers.
Once belt is on reattach the deck and tighten the rods by the motor that keeps the belt from comming off. They need to be close but not touching the engine pulley.

Good luck and let me know if this helps.
