I just bought a new Briel Cadiz and it doesn't make crema. I tried my old Briel crema filter and it works fine making good cream. I was told to untighten the screw in the new crema filter but the screw just goes round and round, even with an electric drill. Can't tighten it or loosen it. Anyone got any suggestions?

You have a leak in a connection or maybe the boiler. There is nothing you can do but find a repair shop to fix or replace the bad part.

First all of your water drips out and then steam comes out the brewhead. (usually only when you select steam to froth milk) This leaves a very limited amount of steam to froth milk with and makes a mess. While it may be too late to help you, I have three machines that are doing the same thing. There is a checkball and spring assembly in the boiler section called the "aqua stop" that is leaking by. (it gets gunked up with minerals) I pulled one machine apart and had to destroy it to get the "aqua stop" assembly apart. It may be easier to buy a new boiler for $80 (cheaper than new) but I cannot remember the website I found to buy the boiler. A good clean and soak with vinegar (possibly more than once) may work to dissolve the mineral buildup. Good luck.

Your Brew Head screen and/or filter basket might be clogged with coffee oils. You can soak both pieces in a product that removes coffee oils from either www.urnex.com or Dezcal brand. Coffee shops will do this once a day. If you have the filter basket with the screw in the middle, you will need to remove the screw and soak everything as it can clog also.
If that does not work (it should tho) you can contact the Briel service center at:
