For me, this seemed to be an issue with the PRD.INI.SIGNATURE file not being present in turbotax's 32bit folder. Typically this will be created during the install process... UNLESS it can't get access to the machine's crypto keys.

SOLUTION: Go here (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817754/en-us) and follow the directions under "Assign the Everyone Group Appropriate Permissions to the Folder". After you've followed those instructions, re-install the software to generate the signature file and it should run without problem.

I completed my 2010 taxes last week, but did not submit to the IRS. Yesterday could not even open Turbotax - or run Turbotax. Have no idea where my completed tax work is! I'm resigned to spending 3h...

You can shutdown your computer and turn it back on,and log back in again. Click on start and all program, and turbo tax to see if it works. Your tax work file should still in in turbo tax folder in your C drive. Try shutdown and turn it back on first to see and let me know, and we can go from there.

Need insructions for inserting a Turbo Tax disc. How is it done?

Insert the CD into your cd/dvd drive on your computer (print side up/shiny side down).
Close drive.
select Run from the autoplay menu that pops up, this will install Turbo Tax on your PC.
If autoplay does not start, open my computer and right click the drive with the disc in it, select auto play, then run or install.
after insallation you should have a icon on your desktop for Turbo Tax.
