Your mixer: Right-click on the sound icon. Go through the menus--see which sound system currently is configured for use: Is that correct? (It's likely that the onboard sound ports are enabled by default. Thus, you can't get sound through your sound card, instead.)

Another option, perhaps, is HDMI. A video card featuring an HDMI port--or onboard video circuitry featuring an HDMI port--passes through both High-definition video--and, audio! Such config also proves available in the mixer, as well. Again, invoking such circuitry requires making that default (or otherwise usable) in the mixer.

I prefer to make every sound config option visible. Two sets are available in the sound icon mixer (from Windows)--those for "Play" and "Capture" (recording or monitoring). Check every box for each set to make their options visible and perhaps usable.

So, you wish to use your C-Media card!: It's likely then that disabling the onboard sound circuitry and ports may help. Using both proves still perhaps possible. Nonetheless, driver conflict also is possible. Have you checked device driver for driver conflicts and function? (Device Manager in Control Panel.) Any missing drivers, or codes indicating failure?

To disable onboard sound, go through your BIOS menus and find the one which enables onboard sound--click or "Tab"/"Space" to disable. Then, tab or click, navigating to the last menu. Indicate "Yes" in the option that saves your new BIOS configuration and reboots. (A less desirable method is to disable the onboard sound circuitry in Device Manager--found in Control Panel.)

(To get into BIOS config--turn on you or shut down and restart your machine--press the "Delete" key--well before the hard drive and OS boots. A newer BIOS allows mouse navigation and clicking to change config--older ones require the keyboard and use the "Tab" key to navigate. The "Space" key on the bottom of the keyboard allows assent to change an option.)

Check out C-Media's driver config icon program--in Control Panel (perhaps available in the task tray, as well). Is configuration accurate? Testing your speakers here also proves possible--that's very useful as you tinker.

Try upgrading the driver--with a correct download from C-Media's site or directly from right-clicking in Device Manager. (Recently, C-Media set up an easier to use site--one which doesn't require registration and joining.) The driver disk you note can't be updated--it may grant you function initially, anyway, though. (Config likely is similar or the same.)

Alternately for Windows, one may obtain third-party driver update software--online or on a disk. This sometimes proves more accurate than device manager--Microsoft often doesn't care always about noting and downloading the most current drivers. If it works OK and isn't a security risk, it's fine.

Go through each menu--from Microsoft (their sound icon executable), and C-Media Control Panel/Task tray executable--tinker, if necessary, to obtain function and enhanced function....

My volume or sound is not working.i cant hear any sound from my music.

Make sure the speaker icon in the bottom left window is not showing a red slash across it. This means it could be muted. RIght click on it and unselect the mute field.

Alternatively the audio driver may need to be re-installed. Go to control panel and select Sound and Audio devices. Select the update audio driver function. I don't know what brand and model of PC you are using so cannot advise which driver might be suitable.

I have attahed sound card install driver but not sound hear

You'll need to enter the bios and disable the onboard intergrated sound/audio device. No one can run two sound cards at the same time. Keep in mind many motherboards will not allow an addon sound card to function. Even when the audio has been disabled.

Microphine not working with Microsoft UAA Function for High Defin

I bet you have to uninstall the sound card from device manager first and the restart the computer. Then try to install the sound driver again. If that does not work you may have to force install the driver from the add new hardware wizard in control panel.

I am curious, do you have a dedicated graphics card installed from ATI / AMD?

Newer ones have a built-in high-def audio also.
