Hey dude i had the same problem n_n. Attach the screws in place and try to screw one by one gently. Soon this pressure will keep the spring tighten (instead your finger's pressure) then it will be easier to reassemble the component. I know you'll fix it n_n.
SOURCE: My conair HC318D came apart near the blades. How
it is designed to come apart for replacement. Look at page 3 of manual for instructions.

their is 2 long wires with a l shaped hook on the the smalles blade that goes on the bottom the points of those wires go in the holes in the bottom of it which is a white thing with 2 groves in it make sure the blade is facing away from where the screws go the take the plastic pad and put it in the 2 holes of the top blad the set it on their facing the same direction the push down till its flush the put the 2 screws back in
