Knocking sound from turned off split ac?? is it possible??

it is kind of banging sound, on the adjacent wall of ac, that wall has no water pipe, neither bathroom is nearby.the nearest thing is ac

It's swing or vent motor sound. After you switch off it takes 5 second to close vent by vent motor.

Please lift the front cover and check your indoor coil is ice formed. When you switch off the ice started melting and sound like you mean. Please check next time when you switch off. And also state about cooling effect. Thanks.

ac is switched off since last week, noise occurs usually from noon - 3( even though ac is not turned on from days) . seems like ac lineset is in contact with wall , something to do with outside temperature

Did you remove your plug from power? After removing plug, if sound inside the blower means May be rat or squirrel would have entered inside the blower unit, I think.

When i turn on heat or ac on face i hear a knocking noise coming from behind dash

If it doesn't turn to the Face/dash. Then you have some work ahead of you. The motor is turning(causing the knock sound) but the door in the plenum isn't. The gear is what's causing the noise. But I could be wrong. Older cars don't have this. Year make and model please.

Top Loader?
Possible Motor problem, run with just the water in it NO LOAD.
Burning smell possible motor knocking could be the belt splitting and slapping the inside.

does the knocking sound seems to come under the floor? you might want to have your ac compressor check but its possible the noise from the ac comes from the tensioner if thats the case you have to replace it to eliminate the sound..

In my Toyota previa 93 , it gives knocking sound when in gear and it become more if AC is ON and if i put it in neutral this sounds goes off Pls any one knows the reason

check your crank pulley,possible the rubber which is used on it cracked and on loading the ac knocks,or check the tensioner of the ac belt,or the ac compressor the pulley of it.

1997 LeSabre has engine "knock"

If it knocks at 50 it will knock sitting still if you race it up. Is the oil pressure good? These motors hardly ever have a bearing problem. The only knock problem was the harmonic balacer that comes apart and knocks. The rubber falls apart and it will make a knock sound all the time, more with the ac on. If you have a knock at 50 or highway speed only you may need a outer tie rod end only. Get the front end checked as they will make a knocking sound on the highway. reply

Split system blower not blowing any air on heat or ac

You maybe iced up. Turn of AC turn fan on and wait about 45 minutes. If fan is blowing air out of vents chances are you were iced up. Two reason for iceing up are AC coil dirty and low on Freon. You need a service tech to check your Charge on system. If you can get to the coil to clean it grreat. Spray it with water let it set and brush clean with a toilet stool bruch. It will not damage the coil. If it is to stopped up you may have to have a service tech chemicaly clean the coil. Fan motors do go out. ou realy need a service tech to check this Rusty

Accelerated clicking/knocking noise when i start driving

sounds like your CV joints are worn out. If the clicking noise gets worse when turning then its a definite possibility. Also check the CV joint boots for splits as this can quickly wear them out. The dust mixes with the grease to form a grinding paste.

hi there,
yes it is possible that the ball joint could be making that noise,a cv joint although does not always make a noise just becuse the boot is split.
A cv joint generaly makes a clicking sound on turns,i would maybe get a second opinion if that would make you happy.
