SOURCE: NAD C541i CD Player won't turn on

I recently bought a second hand C541i as is and I had the same thing; no power up. I took it to a service centre, they re-soldered the connecting pins for the transformer socket. It now works well.
After that I realised that it could have been the problem with the Burson Audio clock that was installed buy the previous owner but had intermittent playback problems. A study of the schematic revealed that the +12v rail for the clock, is from a different secondary coil winding than the +5v for the DAC etc. And the -12v for the analogue output stage could be from a different pin on the connector as well.

I hope this helps.

Hi Skipping problem with a NAD C545BEE, plays OK for 1 minute, then skips randomly wthin the track, then will skip to different tracks on the CD, like fast forwarding. No problems with the disc themselves

hi
There is a diode in the power supply which gives dc supply to the laser focusing coil driver ic . if the diode get faulty this problem can occur. Just replace all the rectifier diodes in the power supply stage. Its better than searching for the exact one. then check the cd player is it skips the tracks. if then also its skips the tracks then you have to change the laser pickup unit.
ok

REMOTE PX-RC1 CANNOT GET CODES FOR A PHILLIPS DVD PLAYER

SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE
If your device does not respond to the remote after
trying all codes listed for your brand, or if your
brand is not listed, try searching for your code. For
example, to search for a code for your TV:
1. Press TV once.
2. Press and hold P until the red LED blinks
twice, then release.
3. Enter 9 9 1. The LED blinks twice.
4. Aim the remote at the TV and press Power.
The remote sends IR codes from its library to
the selected device, starting with the most
popular code first.
5. If the TV responds, go to step 6. If the TV
does not respond, press CH+. The remote will
try the next code. Continue until the TV
responds.
NOTE: Press CH- to try the previous code.
6. To lock in the code, press P once. The LED
blinks twice.
7. To search for other device codes, repeat steps
1 to 6, substituting the appropriate device
key.

My remote is not responding to the tv even i have changed the new baterry

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

clip_image001.jpg
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.
