Decided not to accept goods purchased, want the payment paid back into my paypal account, what is the process.

Products that have arrive at the customers possion would have prior aggreements from retailer or paypay sites. Usually the paypal allows the versalitity to transact either sending or receiving financial values. paypal as an online method of transaction is flexible. Second,, the retailer from which transaction was arrangmed usually once aggreed to restatablish transactions either as malfucntion products requiring returns or aggreement arragment least satisfactory as expected makes another processes achievable. For example, conacting the retailer of the product to verify whether returns for refunds is likely should become convenient to retransact with paypay. In this situation, the customer would be receiving finances back from an already establsihed agreement. Contact the retailer to ascertain the expectation arrangments to retunring products for refunds. Also required in the retransaction process to determining whether the retailer chooses to transact via paypal at refunds.

Your camera should be under manufacturer's warranty still, so I suggest that you follow the warranty repair process.

Any attempt to repair this yourself (or evidence that you've done so) will automatically invalidate the warranty, so on this occasion I'd advise that you make no attempt at all to fix this fault.

It's possible that a few firm slaps to the front of the camera with your palm may cure the fault, but it may only fix it long enough to go wrong when the warranty expires in the next few months.

If the warranty has expired, then if the slapping method does not work you'll need to pay for a repair. Expect this to cost in the region of £120, but this is more than the used value of your camera.

If you're in the UK and purchased the camera from a UK supplier then you will be covered by the Sale of Goods Act which says that goods must be ogf "durable quality". This is not strictly defined, but basically you'd expect a camera which originally cost about £200 to last at least two years in normal amateur use and if taken care of as advised by the manufacturer. The claim is against the retailer, not the manufacturer. The Act potentially covers you for up to six years (five in Scotland), but given that very few digital cameras of any kind last six years, and that the longest warranty Nikon offer on even their most expensive cameras is just two years it would be difficult to argue that you can expect the retailer to retain any liability longer than that.
