It is fine. It flashes once you life the handle and enter a kcup. If you were to put a kcup in and not run water through it, it would eventually stop flashing and you would just have to lift it up again
This should be a relatively simple solution.
1. Ensure that water is in the tank and filled to the top.
2. Raise the lid of the machine with the silver handle and insert a K Cup or just raise and close for hot water.
3. Blue light should now be flashing to indicate the machine is ready for use.
This is a power problem from the unit. The unit receives power into it but does not supply the power sufficiently enough to get the unit to function well. This is why the blue light flashes when the initial burst of power is sent into the unit but due to lack of follow up power the unit fails to remain on. Best get an expert to identify if the power supply distributor in the unit is bad or the ic which is responsible for the distribution is the cause. Hope this solution has been helpful?
I just bought a Keurig Elite B40 Coffee Maker myself, had same issue, Caledl Keurig support, problem solved in seconds. Seems an import step was left out of instructions. The step before the blue lights flash, RAISE THE SILVER HANDLE ALL THE WAY UP AND THEN CLOSE. According to Keurig this tells the brewer that a human is present and aware the brewer is running, a safety feature. Be sure you have a cup in place.

We just had the same problem with ours, and solved it by lifting up the grey handle to open the coffee maker, and closing it again. Not sure what the issue was, but this got the single cup light flashing the way the instructions said it should.
