Everex StepNote NC1510 Model VA250E. No video on LCD screen. No video with external LCD screen either. Power and WiFi lights come on and hard drive spins for about 3 seconds. Then nothing else happens. ...

If it is still under warantee, take it back.. It has too many (different) hardware problems to warrant paying for service. replacement hardware would cost more than a new machine. Save your hard drives for the data and purchase a newer model.

Forgot user id and password and everex closed.

Generic comments follow:

I presume you have tried all the tricks to regain your logon and password and I presume we are talking about logging onto your computer.

Do you have original software and are you able to reinstall it? Are you willing to give up what may reside on your computer?

If you can answer yes to all .. I would suggest you remove the battery, find and remove the BIOS battery. Wait while the life drains from your computer. You are in for a lot of work ... Id make sure it is back to zero, dead, no life, no residue. Start by plugging in the BIOS battery and then the system battery. Turn it on, and see what happens. Hopefully it will say no system disk found.

Place your restore disk (floppy or CD) and reboot. Follow the prompts.

Everex Stepnote NC1500 wont boot

Are there any other lights on or any other activity, or does it just die? If it only pops up with the hard drive light briefly then dies, your laptop might just be dying because the battery isn't holding a charge.

Everex StepNote VA4103M

ALL depends on what part of your screen went...
What Symptoms did you see before the screen went ... if any..... (like Lines, Colors, Blank screen with light, black screen with No light, etc...)

Can You Plug An External Monitor In the Laptop To See If You Get External Video????

Do You Get A Backlight?? If Not, Do You Have A Display going but no light???
Or Is It Just Black Like it has no power to it... if the latter is true, you really need to connect it to an external video source to see if your video card / chip is shot..
