if monitor got no audio in, u can not add a microphone,but u can add a microphone to pc and put it near monitor so will be same result

While this is a well regarded monitor, there is no microphone in it, only speakers.

You monitor with built-in web camera may only process the video signal through the USB only, not audio from the microphone, look for analog microphone output jack to hook it up to your PC microphone input.

The microphone setup should be with the communication software that you will be using such as SKYPE or OoVoo set up panel. It will not be at the monitor. I use OOVOO because I can do video call with six people at once.

there is NO microphone on the fp5315 monitor. I have two of these monitors myself .

No microphone. It has a line in socket to drive the stereo speakers.

make sure you have the mic cable plugged in the right port at the back of your computer. double click on the speaker on your desk tray, lower right corner by the time-date location, the Volume Control window will open. Check if you have the Microphone column, and the Mute check box is not mark. If you can't find the Microphone column in your Volume Control window, click Options > select Properties... check the box that says Microphone... then click OK. Now you should see the Microphone column... uncheck the Mute box. Test your mic now....
