Restoring the Default Configuration and Password

Use the restore factory settings button on the rear panel of the router. Use this method for cases when the administration password or IP address is not known.

This is how to restore the factory default configuration settings that reset the router's user name to admin, the password to password, and the IP address to 192.168.1.1.

To use the restore settings button:

1. Locate the restore factory settings button on the rear panel of the router.


2. Use a sharp object such as a pen or a paper clip to press and hold the restore factory settings button for about 5 seconds, until the Power light begins to blink.


3. Release the restore factory settings button, and wait for the router to restart, and for the Power light to stop blinking and become solid green.

The factory default settings will be restored so that you can access the router from your Web browser using the factory defaults.

Then you can go through the setup procedures to setup your wireless

If you have forgot your password, You can do a master reset to your mobile. this would restore your phone with default factory settings. You can get the master reset code from any Nokia priority dealer.

You will need to reset the router or change the password in the router 1. To change the password, goto Internet Explorer 2. In the address bar type 192.168.1.1 3. Press enter key 4. YOu should see a box with username and password fields. 5. username is admin 6.password is password 7. These are not the wireless passwords but the access password to get in the router. 8. Once in the router interface on Internet Explorer; goto the wireless sections and change the password there.

Are you certain you need to do the factory restore?

In order to do the factory restore you need to have a restore DVD or an uninfected partition on the hard-drive which contains the original install files

If you can boot in safe mode, run Windows restore and be sure to select a restore point/date at which you are certain the virus was not on the PC.

Press F8 on startup before the blue password box appears and you get the option to boot in safe mode.

Restore Factory Default Settings When you restore factory default settings to the base station, you clear your Internet connection settings and any special base station configurations that you have established. After the restore is complete, you will need to reconfigure your base station settings or restore these settings from a backup file. You should restore the original factory default settings only under the following circumstances: O You are experiencing serious problems with your base station, and resetting the base station does not fix the problem. O You cannot remember your base station password. In this situation, you must restore the factory default settings by using the Restore button on the base station, and then use the default password admin to log on to the Base Station Management Tool.
