Firstly you need to know what video card you have. If you have Windows and I assume you do go to Start > Control Panel (switch to classic view) > System click on Device Manager and in the list find 'Display Adapter'. The name of the driver appears. Make a note of it. Go directly to the website of your driver's manufacturer. Follow the instructions to download and install the right driver. Restart your computer to let it take effect.

Warning: this is the manual way to update. If you are not a tech guy, attempting to change video drivers could make your computer inoperable or cause severe problems. As a result, you can rely on a driver detective software to update the driver issue automatically & accurately. This way also saves you time & energy.

Hope this helps!

How do i update my pixel shader for my computer to play games ?

Hi Gerry, if your HP's video card is capable of running the game, you can update the video driver. I would suggest trying the HP Driver Download Support website first. Here's the link: Drivers Downloads.

If your video card is not capable of running the game, you will want to look into a different video card.

Hope that helps you out! :)

I recently bought an Acer 5742G notebook and I keep on getting a pop-up saying my video card is not compatible with Direct3D. Can I update my video card driver? if so, how?

You should be able to update your driver for the graphics card. If you can, open the Nvidia control panel. Then, if you look around in the menu, you should see something along the lines of "Check for new update". Just click that and it should lead you along to update the driver. If you can't find the Nvidia control panel, or for some reason the "Check for update" isn't working, you can go to this link to get updated drivers for Nvidia graphics cards. They even have an auto-detect graphics card feature.
