I notice that I have the same problem and the wire coming out of the frame on the outside opposite where the thermocouple attaches to the frame on the inside goes nowhere. Shouldn't that wire connecting to something? If so, exactly where is the point of attachement of that wire? It should control the opening of the main gas value somehow.

SOURCE: Empire DV-210: Pilot light will light and stays lit, but when I

The thermocoupler is no good. It's that bulb sitting in the pilot flame. when it goes out it shuts everything doen in the main valve. It has to be kept hot by the pilot, that's how it know whether or not it is safe to open the main .

SOURCE: pilot lights but no main burner

Is there a way to check for gas pressure even if just a slight loosened connection to hear it then quickly re-tightened. Otherwise the main valve is not working as it should and will need to be serviced or replaced. Thats all i got.

The pilot light does not stay on so heater won't light.

to thermocouple where the pilot light sits is either dirty/carbon out of alignment flame not burning on it correctly or damaged/broken which would mean replacement

Propane heater goes out after heat cycle

I've seen excessive draft draw the pilot flame away from the thermo couple when the burners light so when the burners shut down so does the pilot.

Pilot light wont stay lit

You need to replace the pilot safety switch which is usually a Thermocouple. It is connected by a thin tube from the gas valve to a bulb near the pilot burner. It should be available at Home Depot or online.
