Hi amvannatta;
mouse is colored green and keyboard is colored violet. you can see the color coded port at the back of your cpu (aka tower).

is your using usb mouse and keyboard, you may insert it at the usb ports at the back, if you attached it for the first time, just wait for it to be recognized by windows,takes about 3-5mins

  • no pc told make or model
  • 100,000 exist.
  • USB mouse , direct wired, and keyboard or both wireless. keyboard and mouse if yes, the battery is dead.
  • in the mouse keyboard.
  • some keyboards talk to the mouse directly and if keyboard dies, so does the mouse so we fix the keyboard first.
  • the battery can in fact fail easy in 6 months.
  • no PC told no keyboard model told off bottom label, (maker and model)
  • I call bad batteries if only they are dead. not PC dead , not screen dead, just those 2 dead.
  • does a wired USB mouse work direct to PC, if yes, now you know with 1min. labor yes PC works
  • we can not guess what is in your hands blind, tell it or photo of it posted.

  • I can not guess what is there in your hands ever.
  • If not wireless, try all USB ports on secret PC before condemning anything first.

How do I setup my wireless mouse and keyboard

Need more information but normally you would hook up the infrared device or usb device to the laptop. Then you would make sure that the keyboard and mouse has new batteries in it. At that point windows should recognize the mouse and keyboard. You may have to push on the connect buttons on the keyboad or mouse to get the laptop to recognize them.
Other then that its not really hard. Just time consuming if it doesn't take right away. Most of the time you don't need software installed unless the manual tells you to install them because windows will recognize them.

Key board help :{

The keyboard and the mouse work on different wireless sensors. Your wireless keyboard should have come with a receiver too. Unless the mouse and keyboard came together as a set, you'll need two different receivers. Check the battery compartment of the keyboard for the sensor. Some models have a hidden area there to store the usb key for the keyboard.
The only exception is if the keyboard is bluetooth, and your computer already has a bluetooth receiver in it (many laptops and phones come with this feature, lately). You will have to check the website for your keyboard's manufacturer to download drivers. You may also be able to order a replacement USB key for it, but I've never been able to. :P
Best bet is to contact the guy you bought the keyboard from and ask him/her: "Where's the USB receiver for this keyboard you sold me?"

Can't hook up mouse and keyboard

Okay, setting up the mouse and keyboard is very simple. The mouse should have a green end, and the keyboard has a purple end. They fit into the corresponding places in the back of the computer. Also both the mouse and the keyboard have flat sides. Try attaching them in the four different directions (e.g; up, down left, right). If that still doesn't work have them look at the wires to confirm that the wires are not bent, that could explain the problem, because the twisting could have caused bends in the PS2 Connector.
