My ipdo 3rd gen is completely dead it won't even charge up and the computer is not recognizing it when I plug it in. I sent it back to apple and they returned it un repaired saying that it has been involved in a shock of some description, I definately haven't dropped it. It is only a few months old and now I have to stand the cost of a new one. I won't be buying the same one.

For hayzlbe: connect it to its AC charger when you're connecting to a computer. n make sure you have an USB 2 port

for Teeen: if you have an hard drive ipod, just give it a shake/shock on your palm. you might get lucky n it might start working again. cuz it worked for me once after i dropped it on the hard cement floor from 2 meters height.

okay all you all need is itunes! (unless you already have it) when you have itunes just put your cd in and click yes to "do you want to import cd" or if you have music on your computer just drag the files into itune's library when it is done importing the music just click on music underneath the subheading of library then select your music and drag to your ipod's music.

My ipod 5.5 gen video wont sync with itunes on my laptop and only sometimes charges. can anybody help please. its be a present for my ma (mother) for christmas

To reset an iPod with a Click Wheel, including: ipodnano3.jpg ipodclassic.jpg icon_ipod_5g.gif ipodnano2.jpg ipodnano.jpg ipodphoto.gif ipodg4.gif ipodmini.gif
  • iPod nano (3rd generation)
  • iPod classic
  • iPod (5th generation)
  • iPod nano (2nd generation)
  • iPod nano
  • iPod with color display (iPod photo)
  • iPod (Click Wheel)
  • iPod mini
  • iPod mini (2nd generation)
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
