You can try Leawo iPod Video Converter, convert your video to MP4 format with H.264 code, and then drag into iTunes and sync into iPod.

Video input

If your video is already in mp4 format, you can drag and drop it into iTunes library. Plug in your iPod to computer, iTunes will detect the iPod automatically, then click iTunes menu "File -> Sync iPod", the mp4 video will be transferred to your iPod.
Otherwise, you have to convert the movie to iPod compatible mp4 video, and this step by step guide will show you how to do that. This way works pretty well with my iPod touch.

You can add video content to your Apple iPod and watch movies on its screen.
Video syncing is controlled by the iTunes application, which then sends the movie files to the iPod's hard drive.
The iPod supports a variety of video formats, and iTunes can convert other files that are not supported.

Plug the iPod USB cable into the bottom of your iPod.
Connect the other end of the iPod USB cable into a free port on your Mac or PC computer.

Open the iTunes application by clicking on the Dock icon on a Mac or using the Start menu on a PC.
Go to the "File" menu and select "Add to Library."
Navigate to the movie file you want to transfer to your iPod and click "Open."

Click on the movie you just added to iTunes, go to the "Advanced" menu and select "Create iPod or iPhone Version."
This will convert the movie file to a format that the iPod can play.

Click on the name of your iPod under the "Devices" list on the left side of the iTunes window.
Go to the "Movies" tab and choose to sync all movie files with your iPod.
Click on the "Sync" button at the bottom of the iTunes window.
The syncing process will begin and the movie file will be transferred to your iPod.

Transfer DVD Movies to an iPod
Transferring DVD movies onto your iPod for personal on-the-go viewing depends on the exact type of DVD you are using.
Some DVDs are in a format that can easily be transferred to iTunes, which can then convert the movies to a format for the iPod if needed.
If the DVD can't immediately be played in iTunes, you will need extra software to convert it before you can transfer the movies to iTunes and then to the iPod.

Load the DVD into the computer's disc drive and open up both the DVD in a window and your iTunes application.
Drag the DVD's main movie file into the main iTunes window to add it to your personal iTunes library.

Connect the iPod to the computer with its USB cable if it isn't already connected.
If it is already connected, or if the iPod does not automatically sync with iTunes, drag the DVD movie file from the library list to the iPod shown in the iTunes source list.

Convert the movie file to an iPod friendly format if you get a message saying the file can't be played on the iPod by selecting "Convert Selection for iPod" in the Advanced menu.
Please note that this conversion can take some time--five to 10 minutes for every two minutes of video.

Conversion Software

Download and install a DVD conversion program to your computer; look for one specifically designed for converting DVD to iPod if possible.

Open the conversion program on your computer and upload the DVD movie file into the program with the "Open" or "Upload" option.
There should be multiple files on the DVD; the actual movie has the longest run time.

Select the format that the file will be converted to from the program's drop-down list of available formats if the program is not automatically set for an iPod format. If an option specifically labeled "iPod" isn't available, choose an MP4 format.

Choose a location on your computer to save the converted file to using the program's "output" option--the desktop is the most common and easiest location.

Click on the conversion button, which is usually the biggest button located in the lower right corner, to convert the file and save it to your computer.

Open up the iTunes application and drag the converted iTunes or MP4 file into the iTunes library.

Connect the iPod to the computer using its USB cable.

I'm computer challenged. I need help downloading movie to ipod

Are you able to get the video into iTunes? You should be able to just drag the file into the library (on the left) if it's not already there. If so, when you plug the iPod in, there will be a Movies tab, just select the file from the list, or tell it to automatically sync all movies, and that should work...
