Rite Temp thermostats don't usually work buy a Honeywell thermostat and wire correctly or call a tech. Be sure and mark original wiring or you will need to call a tech
60 IS A DREAM TEMP MOST UNITS WILL NEVER REACH THESE TEMPS. THERE NOT MADE TO. AT 60 YOU LOWER THE HEAT ABSORPTION INSIDE AND OUTSIDE AND WITHOUT HEAT IT BEGINS TO ICE UP WHEN IT IS 70 INSIDE AND 70 OUT SIDE YOU WILL ICE UP 75 IS GOOD SETTING. IF YOUR TSTAT HAS A HOLD BUTTON SET TEMP AND PRESS HOLD THAT MY HELP
Hello
Try taking the batteries out for 5 min,or disconnect power for 5min.
To clear it out.
Then re input all your times days and temps,
Is t stat in a cold location near a door or window?this could also override your settings, most progrmamble stats will go into override at 58.f im guessing this is not your problem.
If it continues after you reset,i would consider a new thermostat.
you can get a manual analog dial thermostat, atan appliance store and substitute it for the current stat, some boards also have installer settings that you can reset the limits, (I would try that first) there also are some that have dip switches that can be set to override, the issue with the last two would be finding an installers set-up manual, as I said I would search for that before I tried any non factory components
If the system does not turn on and there is not beep, it is either a low or overvoltage situation or a problem in the wiring. Check the 12VDC at thermostat and make sure that it is OK. Also, check the incoming 120VAC at the control box (unit with small phone cord)
Verify 24 volts at the low voltage transformer inside the air handler.
If it is OK, jump out the red/green and yellow thermostat wires. If everything comes on, replace the thermostat.
Your t-stat has a override program on it look for the hold button and cancel the function. Should be able to just press the hold temp button and it will resume the normal program.
