MSI kt4v minus 5v (-5v)

Hi. My system is about 5 yrs old and recently I can not boot it. When I go into bios, PC Health Status the minus 5v shows None (other voltages look normal). I have replaced the power supply. Is it time for a new mb? Thanks for your help.

You replaced the power supply, so maybe the new one doesnt have the -5 volt connector (pin 18 of 20 or pin 20 of 24)... look for another mainboard WITH -5V

Hi, I hope you can help as Acer can't!! I have an Acer Veriton M221 about 15 months old and recently on boot up I get error message Case Opened press F1 to continue or Del to enter Bios. I have not...

Have you tried this:

1) Reboot your computer and Enter Setup.
2) Click on the tab labeled PC Health Status.
3) Find the feature labeled Chassis Intrusion Detect, and change the status to RESET
4) Press the Esc key to access the main menu and then use the arrow keys to choose Save & Exit from the menu.
Do NOT use the F10 key. If you use F10 key to Save & Exit, it does not properly reset this feature!!!!
If you wish to set the Chassis Intrusion Detect feature so it never generates a warning message at boot, follow these instructions
A) Reboot your computer a 2nd time and Enter Setup.
B) Click on the tab labeled PC Health Status again..
C) Find the feature labeled Chassis Intrusion Detect, and this time change the status to DISABLED
D) Press the Esc key to access the main menu and then use the arrow keys to choose Save & Exit from the menu.
Do NOT use the F10 key. If you use F10 key to Save & Exit, it does not properly reset this feature!!!!

Hi,
If you can boot the machine into windows, change the date and time and go to MSI support website and download the latest BIOS update for that model motherboard and install it, that should resolve your problem.
If you need anymore help or advice please post back.

Radeon 9550 + AGP issues on MSI KT4V

First of all, why do you bother to change all these spec? Secondly, since your screen flicked, I would suggest you just leave them like that. Your PC is just as old as mine, don't mess around with it too much.

MAX HDD CAPACITY ADDRESSABLE

Hi john,
The issue what operating system are you running? Not your board).
Windows 98 can see a max of 64GB & windows 98SE, 137GB. Win XP can see a max of 2 exobytes.
(What is 1exobyte, EB. In decimal terms, an exabyte is a billion gigabytes).

Your 160BG drive is safe with XP.

Maximum RAM not achiveable for KT4V

What Operating System and revision are you running?
I don't believe that XP 32bit (not sure about 64) will recognize 3GB of RAM, but Vista will as long as your MoBo (Mother Board) supports it or possibly even more than.
My Asus MoBo will utilize 4GB but Vista 32bit will only utilize 3.48GB or so, and Vista 64bit will take up to 8GB if the MoBo will.
Let us know what O.S. you're running?
