My ipod touch is light up with no words on the screen

If it experiences a problem, you can easily reset it.
Slide the "Hold" switch to the "Hold" position and then slide it back.
Press "Menu" and the center button simultaneously on the click wheel and hold them for about six seconds, until Apple's logo appears on the screen.
IPod Nano
Apple's iPod nano has a touch-screen display and comes with 8GB or 16GB of storage, depending on the configuration.
It has a pedometer and an FM radio.
If the iPod nano doesn't respond, reset it.
Press the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Volume Down" button simultaneously and hold them until the screen gets dark, and then wait a few more seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen, followed by the home screen.

Unfortunately the only way to bypass it is with a forced restore: The forgotten password for iPod touch will have to be restored through iTunes. For which the iPod will have to be put into restore mode, which can be a slightly messy process.

• The first step is to plug your iPod touch to your PC or Mac with the USB cable. In other words, in case you do not have your laptop computer with you, you will not be able to go through the process right now.
• Now hold the sleep/wake button and the menu button on the iPod at the same time.
• Keep the buttons pressed, till you see the 'restore' screen on the iPod touch. The restore screen will have an iPod cable and an iTunes disc symbol. When the restore screen appears, release the buttons.
• With this iTunes will display iPod touch. At the same time, there will be a message displayed, that the iPod touch is in recovery mode.
• You will now have to click on the 'Restore' button in iTunes to restore iPod touch.

1. Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPod touch to turn off.
2. Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable to iPod. When you reconnect the USB to iPod, the device should then power on. 
   
3. Continue holding the Home button while iPod starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
4. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message:
5. Restore and it'll download ~240mb firmware and you're done

It has resett itself

Okay. if your jailbreaking is not working than it is something to do with who or from where you bought your ipod or the jailbreak program. If you are wanting to jailbreak your ipod i reaccoment the program HiJackThis it worked on my old ipod touch. But A word of warning. after i jailbreaked by ipod i dropped it and the screen cracked. they would not fix my iPod for the single reason that by "Jail Breaking" your iPod you break you warrenty and Apple will no longer repair it.
