Unfortunately, you probably need to take it in to an authorized dealer. If you try to fix it yourself you might void the warranty etc..:( Sounds like some minor mechanical part needs to be replaced:)) Nothing you can really do without the right gear!!! and parts

My nikon coolpix s220 just stopped powering on. i charged the battery, but that didn't help. any suggestions?

If the camera was dropped and it does not turn on with a known GOOD battery the camera must have been damaged. When you dropped it the FIRST time and it worked you were lucky. Cameras do NOT like to be dropped.

The camera was dropped on concrete. the lens

You've broken the screen. They can be replaced, checkout the Nikon support web pages. Or a good local photography retailer

Before committing to a repair, its always worth checking to see if its an economically viable option.

How can I do master reset on a DX1

Go into the menu and scroll to "reset". Or, remove the card and battery, press all the buttons, leave it alone for 20 minutes, insert the card and then the battery, turn it on.

Cannot take pictures thru lcd screen on d40x DSLR

The D40x is not capable of Liveview - i.e. looking at the LCD to take a picture. You are mistaken.
If you want Liveview, you need to buy the D3 or D300 cameras. The D40x is an entry-level camera.

My nikon coolpix camera will not turn on

Has the camera been dropped? What happened to it before it wouldn't come on? If it was dropped, bumped, or knocked around. You might be suffering from impact damage. If you did drop it, it is not covered under warranty. I have a friend who fixes cameras.

http://www.cameradr.com/

He can do it faster and cheaper than Nikon.

Live Monitor is not working

You guessed it right. I also think there can be a firmware(software) failure. You can try a Factory reset option of your camera. If that doesn't work, I don't think you should do any more experiments since its a very delicate and sensitive and EXPENSIVE instrument. Please take it to the qualified technician in that case.

Please rate me appropriately if you are satisfied with my answer,in case, if you want any clarification please get back to me.

My nikon d70 won't turn on and the battery if fully charged

The black spot i suspect was the CCD or processor failing. Checkout Nikon customer support re this.
